Exciting Webby Award Brand Partnership Nominees!
The anticipation for the 2023 Webby Awards is reaching a fever pitch as the nominees have just been announced. The nominees span across various categories and represent the best of the digital world, showcasing the most innovative and creative brand partnerships across the industry. As digital media continues to evolve, brand partnerships have become an increasingly popular way for companies to collaborate and create unique and engaging campaigns. In this blog, Hollywood Branded highlights our favorite brand partnership nominees and why.
Duolingo x High Valyrian
Duolingo isn't just a language learning app, it's also a marketing mastermind! In a move that's sure to excite "Game of Thrones" fans, Duolingo partnered with HBO Max to update its "High Valyrian" course. For those not in the know, High Valyrian is a fictional language spoken in the hit TV show. But why stop at just learning regular languages when you can learn a made-up one, too? The new partnership coincides with the release of the "Game of Thrones" prequel series, "House of the Dragon." With dozens of Primetime Emmy Awards under its belt, "Game of Thrones" was one of the biggest TV series of the past decade, so it's no surprise that Duolingo wanted a piece of the action.

Doja Cat x Taco Bell
Taco Bell made headlines when it sadly ran out of ingredients for its beloved Mexican Pizza. This news did not sit well with artist Doja Cat, who took to Twitter to demand its return. As fate would have it, this tweet sparked a brand partnership between Taco Bell and Doja Cat. The fast-food chain and its ad agency Deutsch LA gave Doja Cat creative freedom to not only star in a big-budget Super Bowl commercial but also incorporate the brand into her personal TikTok feed. The partnership even extended to a Taco Bell-themed TikTok musical, featuring the legendary Dolly Parton. It was a great example of how major advertising can be rooted in an authentic relationship with a fan who also happens to be one of the most popular pop stars in the world.

Dominos x Mind Ordering App
Who doesn't want to channel their inner test subject at the Hawkins National Laboratory while ordering their favorite pizza? With the "mind-ordering" app, we got to explore a virtual version of the top-secret government facility while unlocking Easter eggs and using our "powers" to order a delicious pie with just a few facial expressions and head movements. How cool is that?! It's the perfect blend of sci-fi and pizza, and we hope other brands take note of this creative marketing strategy. Plus, who knows, maybe one day we'll be able to order pizza with just our thoughts.

Katy Perry x McCann London
Just Eat and McCann London's did a cool partnership with Katy Perry? Yes, yes they did! They brought her on board to add some serious pizzazz to their 'Did Somebody Say' jingle! The ad campaign was all about celebrating that mouthwatering moment when you're thinking about ordering food. And boy, was it a treat to watch! Katy's home was transformed into a supersized dollhouse, complete with dazzling costumes and a ton of yummy food options. It was a feast for the eyes! This partnership was definitely a hit and had everyone talking.
