She Does It All

Are we even surprised? I mean seriously… another collaboration between one of the biggest celebrities in the world today and one of the largest brands? I’m not surprised, and I think it is genius!

For those of you who are avid Kardashian lovers (guilty as charged), you have been no stranger to Kim’s latest Instagram posts promoting her Beats x Kim Collaboration. She has taken her aesthetic (neutral tones, minimalistic) to a new marketplace: headphones. Kim constantly knows how to keep her brand (especially her color palette) known and in the eyes of consumers. In this blog, Hollywood Branded discusses Kim Kardashian’s latest brand collaboration with Beats.

KIMS LATEST BRAND COLLABORATION

Her Color Palette

White, light neutral, medium neutral, deep neutral, black, and green colors have one thing in common: Kim Kardashian. Kim has taken these colors and has brought life to them. Ones that normally don’t catch an eye, but now mostly due to her SKIMS Collection – which has leaned heavily into this color scheme – have people taking a second look. “Is that Skims?” “Where did you get your top? Skims?”

Do you want to look like a Kardashian? Well, you have to wear these colors. And now, this goes beyond just SKIMS. Kim is bringing her iconic palette to the world of headphones with her Beats collaboration.

Beats x Kim

Kim has teamed up with Beats to create a custom line of Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds. In this collaboration, consumers can choose between three different color options – each representing Kim’s signature neutral color palette. The product comes in Dune, Moon, and Earth.

According to Vogue, “Beats x Kim is meant to combine function and functionality – like a wardrobe staple that seamlessly blends into whatever you’re wearing.”

Kim’s goal with this collaboration was to bring a new idea to headphones – you can wear them to be subtle or to stand out. To make the headphones pop or not.

“I’ve been a fan of the Beats brand forever, so I’m always up on their latest products. And because they know how important fitness is to me, I was one of the first people who got to try out Beats Fit Pro when they launched last year. They’re so comfortable that I’ll forget that I even have them in,” Kim said.

But the cool thing about this partnership is that Kim had the idea herself. Beats did not approach her. She approached the brand!

Kim realized that there weren’t headphones on the market that matched the style and color of her wardrobe – like the tees and biker shorts.

According to Vogue, Kim actually found and hired an artist to hand paint a pair of the Beats Fit Pro headphones, and ultimately that is how the collab was born!

Kim said, “I found an artist that would paint the headphones, and then I thought, why wouldn’t I just go directly to Beats and show them some of the samples that I was just for fun creating—they didn’t have a product like that out there before. I was just bringing my creative concept and my color palette to a brand that I’ve always respected and loved.”

I mean, Beats would have been CRAZY not to get on board with Kim’s vision. With her star power and following, any brand would love to be associated with her.

The Instagram Marketing Machine

No collaboration would be complete without the massive marketing platform that is Instagram. I mean, Kim is the number 7 most followed person on the platform with 329 Million followers.

So far, Kim has posted 3 photos promoting Kim x Beats. In total, the posts have almost 7 million likes and over 25,000 comments. See the posts below:

The Launch

Kim x Beats launched on August 16th – and they are already sold out on the apple website!

The Kardashian family is no stranger to selling out – whether it be SKIMS or Kylie’s Lip Kits – the family knows a thing or two about supply chain, and I am sure will be back in stock soon.

Overall, what brands can learn from this are the power of celebrity partnership and celebrity endorsement. If you have a new product launch, you should definitely look into bringing on a celebrity partner. Their brand will help amplify who you are and develop credibility and authenticity. Plus, it doesn’t hurt when working with a celeb helps boost your sales!
