Lights, Camera, Branding Unveiling the Magic Behind Entertainment Marketing

The Art of Storytelling in Brand Promotion

What a whirlwind of a week it's been! I'm starting this new year like a bucking bronco out of the gate. I'm barely recovered from Las Vegas' week's retreat with our team at CES, and I've discovered how chilly Daytona Beach is outside when you are standing for hours with a filming crew shooting scenes of a race that will be the talk of the world in 2025, and an incredible win for Hollywood Branded.   How's THAT for an easter egg. ;)

On Sunday, after that all-day and nighter shoot with a flight back to LA at 4 am, I was back in Burbank, working on the finale episode of a new reality show. This series is extra special because one of our brand clients is not only featured in every episode, the head of marketing is featured as a judge. And she rocked it! I'll chat it up more when it's closer to its Amazon release in April.  On Tuesday, we have another branded content shoot, and then... I plan to take a little nap!

I often get asked if my life is exciting working in Hollywood. I travel all over the world, and work with brands in every corner of the globe. In reality... yes. It is exciting. It's also a whole heck of a lot of work and requires being 'on' 24/7. I made executive platinum on American if that tells you how often I have been flying. The reality is, I'm lucky. I get to meet and work with really cool people - from clients to those famous faces on screen, and true talent behind the scenes.

Part of my 2024 goals is to continue to appreciate and self-recognize wins. I started getting better at doing that last year, mentally stopping myself and taking a picture in my mind (and usually in reality too on my phone) of what I have created, and how it is a job well done or something really cool to experience. I'm actively working, and finding so many opportunities, to not only remind my clients  to stop and slow time down in moments of some of their biggest triumphs, but myself.  It's hard to remember to stop and appreciate the life I've created, the awesome work our team does, and the really neat access I get to things most people just dream of. I live a life that many people would envy. I'm a big believer in energy, and my focus of building partnerships for clients has created a very good life, and opened doors to experiences. I am truly blessed, grateful and thankful. For those of you have shared any step of my journey, thank you as well.

Flashback To CES

Last week, I talked about my favorite brands from CES, and now I'm excited to introduce nine more brands that really impressed our team. Take a look and find out why we're giving them a special shoutout from Hollywood Branded.

Cerwin Vega

Synonymous with superior sound quality since 1954, Cerwin Vega pro audio products are the choice of music legends, known for their deep bass and crystal-clear sound. From powerful home speakers to custom car audio systems, Cerwin Vega's products are designed to play music and feel it, making them a staple in the audio industry.

Garmin

I love having data tell me what is, or isn't working, in my life. Garmin stands at the intersection of fitness and technology, offering an array of wearables that do more than just track – they inform and inspire. Their fitness trackers and smartwatches, including the Vívosmart and Fenix lines, are designed for those who live life on the move. Garmin's precision in tracking everything from your heart rate to your sleep patterns turns every activity into a data-driven experience. Their sports watches and golf GPS devices are not just gadgets but essential tools for athletes and enthusiasts alike, enhancing performance with every use.

Gel Blasters

This brand build out was several of our team's favorites because it is just.so.fun.  Seriously! Gel Blaster is revolutionizing recreational shooting with their safe and exciting gel bead-based blasters. Originating in Australia, these blasters offer the thrill of airsoft without the associated risks, making them perfect for enthusiasts of all ages. Gel Blasters aren’t just about shooting; they’re about safe, adrenaline-pumping fun, bringing a new edge to recreational activities.  If you want to start a war at home, this is the way to do it.

Hypervsn

Besides’ LG’s awesome see-through TV that was the talk of CES, the display set up for HYPERVSN knocked me off my feet. It was so incredible. As a pioneer in holographic display technology. Their SmartV system is a leap into the future of visual communication, creating vivid, high-definition 3D content that appears to float in mid-air. It's not just a display technology; it's an experience that captivates and mesmerizes, transforming any space into an immersive environment.

If you’ve ever seen the movie Minority Report, then think of the scene in the mall as Tom Cruise walks through, with holographs identifying him and enticing him to buy a new Lexus. This is that, and so much more. This is the future of experiential activations.  It’s engaging, and you WANT to interact as the quality of the visuals is stunning.  I first saw HYPERVSN at the Sphere when I came out to see U2 in the lobby area. Any image, video, or actual real person standing there can be digitized into a 3D model, instantly - and cast on screens ranging from small tabletop displays to giant walls.  You just want to stand and stare. They have some incredible stats, too, ranging from incredible viewing/engagement time, lead generation, emotional response, and sales increase.

Here's a call out to remember, for those brands who do trade shows. The super colorful bird holographs flocking above the Hypervsn booth first got my attention across the floor and enticed me over through a sea of brands. Sparkle and dazzle do get noticed. I deviated and wow am I glad I did!

Luminar

Here's a brand that is embedded in your car technology. Luminar is at the forefront of autonomous driving technology, with their state-of-the-art lidar technology offering a new level of vehicular safety. Their sensors provide unparalleled three-dimensional sight, enabling vehicles to navigate complex environments safely. Luminar is more than a tech company; they're a visionary in the automotive world, making driving not just safer but smarter.

Owlet Baby Care

We have a mom-to-be in our office, so I was more on the lookout for baby care products this year. For parents seeking peace of mind, Owlet Baby Care is a beacon of innovation. Their ground-breaking Smart Baby Monitors, including the iconic smart sock, offer real-time insights into your baby's health, directly to your phone. This is technology that doesn't just monitor; it informs and connects, providing a new level of understanding of your baby's well-being. Owlet's commitment to using tech for enhancing parenting is evident in every aspect of their products, making them not just devices, but partners in parenting.

Panasonic

Plastic made from oil is a big problem for our environment. We make about 300 million tons of it every year, and it's causing lots of pollution and harming our planet. Even though people know it's bad, only about 9% of this plastic gets recycled.

Panasonic is working on fixing this problem. Since 2015, they've been trying to use less oil-based plastic. One of their big ideas is to make a new kind of material from plant fibers, which is better for the environment and which will help reduce plastic pollution. Panasonic continues to push the boundaries of innovation, with their latest foray into sustainable materials like "kinari" highlighting their commitment to eco-friendly technology. This new material, made from plant-based waste, represents a significant leap in sustainable manufacturing. Alongside this, Panasonic's range of consumer electronics – from TVs to cameras – are a testament to their ongoing dedication to bringing cutting-edge technology into our everyday lives.

Targus

Having a laptop bag isn't just about carrying your device; it's a fusion of fashion and functionality. Their bags are a stylish statement, blending sleek design with practicality. But Targus isn't just about bags. Targus excels in merging tech with our lifestyles, offering solutions that are not only functional but also elevate our digital experience. Their docking stations are a game-changer in connectivity, offering a hub of versatility for your devices, whether at home or on the go. The tactile feel of their keyboards and the precision of their mice transform everyday tasks into a seamless experience.

Xreal

Having augmented reality vision is not something for the future. It's here, and it's about to change your life more than just AI has done and will continue to do. Xreal is revolutionizing our perception of reality with its AR glasses. These glasses are not just an accessory; they're a portal to a new dimension of interaction. Be it gaming, working, or exploring Xreal’s AR glasses offer a seamless blend of the digital and physical worlds, promising an experience that's not just immersive but transformative.

What's interesting to me is that some of my team members shared that they thought wearing them would make them more proactive in the office and able to limit outside distractions. It makes me want to start testing that impact immediately.
