We All Want To Talk About Miles Teller and Tom Cruise, But...

Now I get it, when you see a blog about the new Top Gun movie, you probably want it to be gushing about Miles Teller's gorgeous mustache or Tom Cruise's sexy voice. However, I have something even more exciting to talk to you about when it comes to Top Gun: Maverick... Product Placement. I know, I know, it may not seem like the most exciting thing in the world, but in case you haven't been paying attention, we know how to do some talking about product placement over here at Hollywood Branded.

If you've seen the first and now second Top Gun movies, you won't be surprised to know that many of the product placement opportunities in the most recent film were very similar to the original. However, a few new brands have been added to the Top Gun roster that are worth noting. In this blog, Hollywood Branded shares a comprehensive list of the product placements in Top Gun: Maverick

But Why Should I Care?

Great question! For starters, this just gives you one more reason to go see this fantastic movie again and again. However, the main reason is Top Gun is great proof of how effective product placement can truly be and how it can put a brand back on the map. In case you didn't know, it is said that Ray-Bans was on a steady downward slope previous to the original Top Gun film, as well as Tom Cruise's other famous 80's film, Risky Business. However, after both of these movies, the styles that were modeled on Cruise's famously gorgeous face became (and have remained) two of the most famous sunglasses styles in the world and Ray-Bans (clearly) made a comeback. But the Top Gun and Risky Business costumers didn't just stumble upon Ray-Bans; the company hired a product placement agency to help with their popularity and brand recognition and the rest is history. So there you have it, product placement saves the day again.
