We believe that bringing brands, content, celebrities and influencers together makes storytelling more meaningful and impactful.
So Much Social Media, So Much Money
Remember when parents used to yell at their kids to get off the “stupid” *insert whatever social media platform their children were using at that time*. Social media used to be seen as no more than a time-waster. That was until people started realizing that money could be made on social media. And when I say money...I mean REAL MONEY.
Today, some social media influencers are making more money than some of the highest paid positions do in three years. Now, of course, most people on social media aren't making this kind of money but there are certainly some who do. In this blog, Hollywood Branded examines 6 of the highest earning social media influencers and the impact they've made both with brands and their own following.
The Mega Influencers
Now, don’t get confused. By no means are the influencers listed below the standard pricing associated with influencer marketing. Pricing can vary greatly depending on the campaign’s scope of work and the size of the their follower base. There are nano and micro-influencers out there that will still work with brands for product trade or a very low fee. However, in this blog, we’re focusing on the major player influencers. Below, take a look at who some of these superstars are:
1. Dan DTM
DanTDM, also known as Dan Middleton, is one the highest paid social media influencers in the world, bringing in around $16.5 million per year. Dan is a British YouTube personality, professional gamer, and author. His online video channels have covered many video games, but mainly the popular game Minecraft.
2. Jake Paul
Jake Paul was one of the few that made the successful leap from Vine to YouTube. In just a short five months, Jake Paul was able to amass a following of one million subscribers. Today, Paul boasts a total following of over 17 million and continues to grow it everyday. Jake Paul has expanded outside of his YouTube success to build a social media agency, with investors like Gary Vaynerchuk.
3. Jen Selter
Jen Selter, a health and fitness influencer, goes by the handle @jenselter on Instagram and has amassed a follower base of 12.5 million on Instagram. She’s known to charge roughly $15,000 for a single post. Jen Selter has gone on to create her own website where she offers her fans access to her fitness routines and health tips to get the perfect body.
4. Cameron Dallas

5. Rachel Brathen

Brathen is interesting in that she has a very niche following, unlike some of the more common Instagram accounts such as those of fashion or fitness influencers. Because of this, Brathen has been known to charge upwards of $25,000 for a single post. Side note, where can I sign up to do yoga and make over $25,000 for an Instagram post? Not only is Brathen a yogi but she is also a very successful author having her book, “Yoga Girl”go on to become a New York Times bestseller.
6. Nash Grier
The last person that we want to talk about on this short, but high yielding list, is Mr. Nash Grier. Nash Grier is another American social media influencer that got his start on none other than Vine. Grier has a strong connection with Generation Z and has worked with big brands like Aeropostale. She is known to charge around $13,000 for a sponsored post. If You Don't Have The Budget, Don't Worry!
Not all social media influencers command these types of dollars. In fact, only a very small few actually charge brands such high fees. There are thousands of influencers out there whose prices are more reasonable compared to the exorbitant rates that the above social media stars charge. In order to find the perfect influencer for your brand and to put together a successful campaign, it’s better to work with an agency that is an expert in this field. Here at Hollywood Branded, we are experts at putting together groundbreaking digital marketing campaigns.

AJ graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in entrepreneurship. Following his four year stint in college, AJ went on to launch his own marketing agency whose focus was to help brands better engage with multicultural consumers. It was during this time that AJ’s love for marketing and working with brands really began to blossom. Although quite elusive, this lovely bearded man can be spotted in any country in the world at any point in time, having already visited over 25 countries by the ripe age of 22. When not jet setting to the next location, AJ can be found eating weird foods (most recently a scorpion in Thailand), watching Chelsea FC win the English Premier League or sitting down with a bucket of kale watching an overly cheesy romance film.
