What's The Buzz With Love Island?

"I've got a text!" Love Island UK has taken the world by storm. Our office has been talking in British accents all summer long; yes, we are obsessed. As season 8 just came to a close, it is time to start the endless brand deals with popular contestants.

According to Variety.com, the season 8 finale had a viewership of 3.4 million, and the season has garnered over 250 million streams. This has made it the most-watched series ever on ITV Hub. It is safe to say that this show and the contestants become pretty influential after airing.  In this blog, Hollywood Branded discusses the brand partnerships attached to Love Island UK and the show's contestants.

It Gets Sunny, Grab Quay Sunglasses

Quay Australia is a brand that had center stage throughout this season. With the Islanders spending most of their time under the Spanish sun, almost every pair of sunglasses they wore had a Quay logo. Quay's sunglasses were showered throughout the villa and had a centerstage with the stylish outfits the islanders wore. Quay partnered up with Love Island and got endless content of all the islanders sporting their sunnies. This partnership was perfection, and the amount of social content and recognition was definitely worth the pound.

Beauty Deals

Boots was back this season as the official beauty partner of Love Island UK. If you are like me, you notice all the beauty brands and products the islanders use. The girls' dressing room is stocked to product perfection, and every lounge chair is equipped with Soltan suncream. I noticed all of the beauty product hands-on usage, and Boots got content galore. Take a look at their Instagram for endless Love Island "Unseen Bits" & beauty product use.

Brand Deals For The Islanders:

When the show comes to an end and the islanders get their phones back, they are instantly superstars. Each islander has millions of followers and instantly becomes influencers. This means one thing for brands....partner with your favorite contestant.

Tasha X eBay

Tasha Ghouri, one of the finalists on season 8, is one of Love Island's first-ever deaf contestants. She brought awareness to her disability throughout the season, which she calls her 'superpower.' Tasha hit the social media scene as this season's fashionista. She experimented with fun outfits that never flopped. Tasha kept it fun, chic, and trendy (but not in the tacky way some Islanders went for). She constantly looked stunning in every look she created. As soon as she exited the villa, Tasha signed with eBay UK for a partnership to promote secondhand fashion. This partnership was one of its first with a Love Island contestant. We usually see numerous islanders partnering with fast fashion brands, so I personally loved seeing the eBay X Tasha Ghouri partnership. As a consumer, I never think of purchasing clothing from eBay. Now that one of my favorite islanders is partnered with them, this may make me browse their site!

Gemma X Pretty Little Thing

As a very chic and sophisticated contestant on Love Island, Gemma was another fashionista on the show. Differing from Tasha, Gemma kept her style very neutral and sophisticated throughout the season, but looked very put together and fashionable in everything she wore. I was a little shocked to see a partnership with Pretty Little Thing and Gemma. A trendy fast fashion brand did not seem up Gemma's style, but I guess we will have to wait and see what is in store for Gemma X Pretty Little Thing. Gemma is following the steps of Molly-Mae, a season 5 contestant, and joining the Pretty Little Thing Family.

Partnerships Are Coming!

We can only assume that the numerous other contestants will have brand partnerships coming. I am sure season 8's winners, Davide and Ekin-su have something coming in the near future. Along with finalists Luca, Indiyah, and maybe even Dami!
