Watch Out For Our Emmy-Winning Placement

Table Of Contents

Hold up… did you know that we here at Hollywood Branded are Emmy-approved? Well, as close to winning an Emmy as we can be because we worked on securing some incredible placement for our client, Canned Water 4 Kids, on Lizzo’s Emmy-winning show, Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.

We're feeling 'Good As Hell' about this great example of product placement.  In this blog, Hollywood Branded discusses the power of no-fee product placement and how this partnership came to life.

Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 25th of this year. The 8-episode competition series is about multi-platinum music icon, Lizzo, as she searches for her next BIG GRRRL dancers as she heads into her 2022 World Tour (which has begun!). Only the most talented dancers and models will have what it takes to make it BIG and join Lizzo on tour. You can check out the trailer for the show here:

However, this show is more than just about the competition. It is about empowerment. Vulnerability. Acceptance. And Loving Yourself.

According to NBC News, Lizzo said, “It was important that I changed the narrative of what a reality competition show looks like… We don’t always have to be cruel. We can be kind, and we don’t have to pit people against each other. I feel like it’s hard enough in the dance world already for girls who look like me, so why would I create that environment in my space? If I have the power to change that, why not change that?”

With all 13 contestants coming from different backgrounds, sizes, cultures, fashion-sense, identities, and looks they all experience a common theme while on the show: empowerment.

Contestant Asia Banks said, “I feel like a lot of us didn’t come on the show 100 percent ourselves, and within that process, I feel like each of us found exactly who we are… I really feel the most like myself when I’m with my sisters from the show [and] Lizzo’s environment. I think the energy we give off for each other, and for ourselves, is going to leak into society. I think everyone is going to learn how to emulate that off of us.”

Altogether, the show’s message is simple: don’t be afraid to be and love yourself.

The Power Of Product Placement

Now, what did we do for this show? Well, two words: Product Placement! Through our relationships with production, set decorators, and prop masters, we were able to secure incredible no-fee exposure for our client, Canned Water 4 Kids (CW4K).

CW4K is a water brand that donates 95% of its proceeds to helping children gain access to clean drinking water around the world.

Through this partnership, we supplied the show with over 1,000 cans of water for the cast and crew to drink while filming. Production stocked the house fridge (where the contestants lived during filming) with the product, and through this, the brand got over 10 minutes of exposure across the whole series!

HERE is a quick highlight reel of the partnership.

This is the power of product placement and why brands should really consider incorporating this type of marketing plan. Brands receive incredible awareness and exposure in all-things pop culture through this program. If you want your brand associated with Lizzo – as you can tell, we can do that! You want your brand in Selling Sunset? We can do that! What about in Succession? We got you covered!

Product Placement is a numbers game. The more product we can send to productions, the more exposure your brand will get. It is a numbers game. And one that pays off! We have clients who have saved MILLIONS of dollars in fee-based integrations just by signing on for our product placement program and us working to get them incredible on-screen exposures with no fees paid to production.

If this sounds like something you are interested in, please give us a shout!
