How Ye Has Made Himself The Focus Of The Entertainment Industry In 2022

Throughout his career, Ye has never shied away from controversy! Whether it be his legendary rants or his sometimes off-the-wall comments, Ye has always found a way to make himself the center of attention in the entertainment industry. So seeing how he’s ramped it up for 2022 has been no surprise.

After an up and down media frenzy, Ye has made the masses both love and hate him at the same time. Whether it be his constant harassment of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, his new documentary “Jeen-Yuhs,” his Donda 2 album, or his iconic tweets, not a day goes by without at least one mention of Ye in the media. In this blog, Hollywood Branded discusses some of Ye’s biggest moments of 2022 so far!

Donda 2

Fresh off the release of his critically acclaimed Donda 1 album, Ye is already prepared to bless his fans with the 2nd installment of Donda. And similar to the first release, Ye is doing what Ye does best by presenting the music in a very unique artistic way. Going from stadium to stadium, giving fans the opportunity to visually experience the album all while it's still being finished. Ye has clearly been a trailblazer in music, and he continues to reinvent both sound and how the music is presented to fans.

With this in mind, it’s no surprise Ye chose to go against the grain and keep his new album off of all major streaming platforms and only release it on his Stem Players. This was a very risky move that could greatly impact his sales, but Ye has never been one to shy away from change and this is a big one.

The Jeen-Yuhs Doc

Love him or hate him, there's no debating the greatness of Ye and his contribution to music. And with his new Netflix doc Jeen-Yuhs, We get an incredible behind-the-scenes look into his journey to stardom. This documentary takes fans back all the way to his days as a producer and shows his struggle to be respected as an artist in the industry.

Prior to the release of his Grammy-winning debut album, College Dropout, Ye was often disregarded and boxed in as only a producer. But with his persistence and belief in himself, Ye was able to meld himself into the star he is today. In addition, we are also privy to Ye’s strong bond with his mother, and how he was impacted by both the fame and her loss. After watching this doc even with all the controversy that has surrounded Ye, I find it hard to not have the utmost respect for his journey!

Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian

One of Ye’s not-so-bright moments has been his constant feud with “Skete”, aka Pete Davidson, over his relationship with Kim Kardashian. With the couple going through a very public split, Pete has been caught in the crossfire due to his new relationship with Kim. With what started out with a few tweets attacking Pete, Ye has been very persistent in both his pursuit to get back Kim and in his negative comments toward the comedian.

Very recently, many have felt that Ye may have crossed the line with the release of an animated music video for his song “Eazy” where he mentions Pete saying “God saved me from that crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidsons' ass.” In this video, Ye is seen beheading and burying Pete. This has sparked outrage by many who feel Ye has taken this harassment too far.

Twitter Rants

One thing we all can agree on is Ye has not only been an iconic figure in music and fashion, but he has also turned himself into a Twitter icon as well. Ye’s tweets have been some of the most legendary moments to hit the internet and he hasn’t shied away from his rants in 2022 either.

So far Ye has publicly beefed with Pete Davidson, announced a 2024 run for the presidency, demanded an apology from Billie Eilish, posted messages between him and Kim, beefed with Kid Cudi, and did a lot more with some even being within the same night. So it’s safe to say that Ye does not plan on holding back his words anytime soon, and will continue to give us all the entertainment we need for the year.

Does All The Noise Get You Excited For The Music?

It's clearly been an eventful year for Ye, and we're not even a full three months in yet! His name has dominated the news cycle on a daily basis and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Whether it's his feud with Pete Davidson, his legendary listening session selling out stadiums, his documentary unpacking his journey towards stardom, or his always entertaining tweets, Ye has been the MVP of 2022 so far.

Many feel like his actions have all just been a ploy to gain more attention for the release of his Donda 2 album. While causing controversy will get you talked about in the media, it doesn’t always mean that will correlate to more people listening to the music. I personally feel like this is just Ye being Ye and even without all the noise surrounding him, I will still be excited to listen to the music. Do you think Ye’s actions have all been a strategic move for his music? Have all the mentions of Ye in the media made you more excited to hear the music?
